Lark Lane is a real hidden gem towards the south of the city with amazing restaurants and bars, and more popping up every day! Here are some of the top spots we recommend visiting and exploring!
Lark Lane sits at the edge of the magnificent Sefton Park, one of Liverpool’s most popular tourist destinations. With incredible monuments, lakes and sights it’s no surprise that is has been awarded English Heritage and Green Flag awards. Sefton Park is also incredibly popular amongst runners in the area, and it’s 2 mile circumference is a perfect challenge to get yourself into the swing of exercise! There are loads of events and festivals in the park over summer so make sure you keep an eye on Visit Liverpool.
Lark Lane Farmer’s Market
On the 4th Saturday of each month, between the hours of 9am and 2pm, market traders within a 30 mile radius gather at Lark Lane to sell fresh produce. You can buy anything from organic vegetables, meat, fish, bread, cakes and more. Come along, and support your local community of traders!
Green Days Café – £
A vegetarian Café that has become popular with even the most carnivorous residents of Liverpool – Green Days Café has been a staple of Lark Lane for nine years!
Keiths Wine Bar - £
Keith’s is oozing with personality and attracts people from all walks of life. Food is very reasonably priced and of course, there is an excellent selection of wines.
Maranto's - ££
The menu at Maranto’s is focused on an Italian/American fusion dining experience. With hearty meals which include large burgers, authentic pasta dishes and even homemade tiramisu to die for!
Milo Lounge - ££
Milo Lounge is a funky, quirky venue which sits at the park end of Lark Lane. Milo Lounge’s menu is Western at heart, with slight creative tugs from globe-wide dishes that are sure to please any diner.
The Monkey Grinder - ££
The Monkey Grinder produces a menu with Spanish influences – resulting in some of the best tapas in Liverpool. This restaurant also has a wide selection of Spanish wines to choose from, and is extremely vegetarian friendly!
Red Fort - ££
The gourmet chefs at Red Fort work hard to create dishes filled with the authentic flavours and spices of India. This restaurant also offers a takeaway service – so you can bring the quirks of Lark Lane to your own room!
Love and Rockets - ££
Love and Rockets brings the university life feel to Lark Lane. With a simplistic menu which provides choice of stone baked pizzas, nachos and hot dogs. There's also regular live sport viewings, pub quizzes and live jazz nights.
The incredibly cool Hafla Hafla opened in 2018 and specialises in middle eastern dishes. Popular items on the menu include the infamous halloumi fries, house hummus and the wild rice bowl. Definitely worth a try!
Chilli Banana - ££
Award winning Thai restaurant with beautifully prepared traditional meals from the owner’s own family recipes. Definitely one to take any visitors to Liverpool to try!
Que Pasa Cantina - ££
With an outdoor seating area and patio, Que Pasa Cantina is a great venue for summer time drinks with fantastic Latin American inspired food – perhaps following June exams to celebrate the end of the academic year!
Bistro Noir - ££
A modern restaurant that packs a menu filled with eclectic meal choices with global influences – Bistro Noir's rustic menu is compiled with ingredients of fair trade and organic sources – a factor this restaurant really prides itself on.
The Lodge - ££
The Lodge brings a traditional English pub to the otherwise quirky Lark Lane. Serving a huge variety of cask ales, cocktails, lager and hearty pub grub – The Lodge is perfect for a sophisticated twist on a lad’s night.
Belly - ££
A small restaurant that will take you to the heart of Turkey with its menu – which features a hint of Greek influence. With a low lit, intimate atmosphere, this is a great place to take the family that have come to visit.
Arabesque Bazaar - ££
Bringing a Moroccan twist to Lark Lane, this bistro focuses on freshly prepared drinks, tapas, light lunches and evening meals. Its menu features traditionally prepared Moroccan tagines, soups and couscous – and its décor will only enhance the Moroccan vibes.
On The Pallet - ££
An independent, family run bistro, On The Pallet has a menu packed with large meals – this is another spot perfect to take family members and friends to on their first visit to the Aigburth area!
Elif Restaurant - ££
Elif is a humble, homely restaurant that transports the Turkish BBQ style to Liverpool. Although it lies on the more expensive side of Lark Lane, Elif vows to provide large portions packed with great flavours authentic to the Turkish roots in which it is embedded.
